In times of difficulty people tend to come together for the greater good.
This is the message Apple’s Tim Cook sent to the world in a recent Twitter video in which he announce the tech giants plans to manufacture a million facemasks a week to be used by medical professionals across the U.S.
This new pledge comes on top of the nearly 20 million face masks already donated by the company.
In the video, Cook said: “We’ve launched a company-wide effort, bringing together product designers, engineering, operations and packaging teams, and our suppliers to design, produce, and ship face shields for health workers.”
“Our first shipment was delivered to Kaiser hospital facilities in the Santa Clara Valley this past week and the feedback from doctors was very positive.”
The masks are designed to be assembled in two minutes and will be shipped across the country to the most needed areas.
